Engine Intake Covers

We manufacture made to measure engine intake covers. The purpose of an engine intake cover is to protect the engine against dust, debris, and environmental factors. The cover itself is to be used while the engine is not being used – such as being kept in storage.

At Aviation Covers, we can design, manufacture and help to fit your cover. Our unique manufacturing process ensures our products are of the highest standard. An engine intake cover can help retain the life of your aircraft. Damage to the engine can be very costly. For a small investment, you can protect your aircraft engine using a cover. Our covers can also help protect against frost, water, UV, and corrosion.

Our WeatherProof SG Aircraft Cover Material

We use WeatherMax SG material to manufacture our covers. The WeatherMax SG material is the ultimate in scratch and scuff protection. In addition to this, the fabric is waterproof and breathable.  Added breathability helps reduce condensation and mildew and helps keep your aircraft in top condition. The material itself can help protect your aircraft from harsh elements. Weather conditions can deteriorate the condition of an aircraft. This is why it is important to keep your aircraft protected.

We Use GORE® TENARA® Thread

This industry leading sewing thread resists sunlight, chemicals, saltwater, extreme weather, and acid rain. This makes it ideal for protecting aircraft. In addition to this, the thread colour does not fade, which allows it to keep a bold appearance for years to come. The GORE TENARA Sewing Thread is strong in extreme cold or heat. This allows it to be flexible whilst resisting the harsh elements.

Engine Intake Cover FAQ

Why do you need an engine intake cover?

Jet engine inlet covers are great because they protect your engine from FOD (Foreign Object Damage) and weathering. This can help keep your engine and subsequently your aircraft in good condition. The engine is a vital part of the anatomy of an aircraft and therefore it is important that it is looked after.

How do engine inlet covers keep the engine in good condition?

The Engine Intake Covers are made from a breathable yet durable material that helps prevent cowl damage and worn parts. The covers themselves fit over the engine – however, we provide full fitting instructions. The breathable material protects against corrosion caused by exposure to moisture or humid environments.

Aircrafts that are not in use could get exposed to a number of hazards such as debris, sand, snow ice, and even nesting birds and foreign objects. These can cause severe damage to the engine, which can be very costly.

How much do engine intake covers cost?

The price of an engine intake cover differs depending on the aircraft. The investment of an engine intake cover is small in comparison to the cost of damage that an aircraft may sustain without an engine cover. Keeping your aircraft protected from debris and extreme weather conditions is vital in retaining value.

Are aviation covers made in the UK?

Yes, all of our aircraft covers are made and manufactured in the UK. Our unique manufacturing process and quality workmanship ensures only the best protection.
